The London Coffee Festival 2014

The London Coffee Festival, one of the year’s most anticipated events hosted by The Old Truman Brewery, has returned yesterday to attract not only coffee lovers, but also cafe owners, baristas, industry representatives, and of course tourists, coming to London to enjoy a fine spring weekend.

Running from 3-6 April at The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, this year’s fest will bring together about 20,000 visitors interested to know more about coffee. During the four days that the festival runs, guests can enjoy a variety of delicacies, tastings, demonstrations and world class barista master-classes. The event will also feature workshops, talks, and debates to join during the festival.

At this year’s festival best baristas will compete at the UK Barista Championship and Latte Art Competition. There is also an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of coffee at scientific workshops, observe the coffee roasting process, watch interactive demos and live coffee machine assembling, take a step into a long history of coffee, its evolution and recipes, as well as enjoy some interesting trivia.

The London Coffee Festival will take place at several venues, such as The Growing Community garden, in the trendy area of Shoreditch and Soho, in the restaurant The Lab, which will host seminars and workshops to provide industry visitors with the latest market insights, as well as innovative and creative ideas revolving around coffee. Other areas are the True Artisan Cafe, the Make Decent Coffee Lounge, St. Ali, Taylor St. Baristas, Caravan and many more. Pay a visit to the festival Roastery and enjoy the scent of roasting coffee.

The fest is not only about coffee however. Talented musicians will perform in the Hyde Park area of the festive event, but at the Artisan and Street Food Markets you can try incredibly delicious foods.

If you are in London this weekend, make the most of your stay and discover the UK’s biggest coffee and artisan food event. The Festival’s close-out will mark the beginning of the UK Coffee Week taking place 7-13th April.
