This Is London!

Welcome to London! We’ve take our favourite photos and our favourite famous London quotes and compiled some images to show off London at it’s best.

Amitours may just be a friendly London taxi service but we are proud of our city and want to show it off to you, so without further ado:

Welcome to London

Noel Coward Spoke of London’s loose morals in correlation to London’s high rise buildings. The City still grows ever taller and ever more impressive, but do these buildings hide a seedy underbelly? Almost certainly, not that I see any of that – they tend to keep them selves out-of-sight all together!

“I don’t know what London’s Coming to – the higher the buildings the lower the morals”

London's tall Buildings and low morals

Novelist and historian Walter Besant loved this city and we couldn’t agree with his sentiment more: London changes daily. A traditional yet diverse cultural epicentre. Everywhere you turn there is something new to discover.

“I’ve been walking about London for the last thirty years and I find something fresh in it every day”

London Walk fresh and exciting

Ralph Waldo Emerson was an American essayist, lecturer, and poet. We think his heart was in the right place here, but let’s not lose the eccentric, weird and downright wacky London we’ve all come to know and love!

“’tis said, London and New York take the Nonsense out of a man”

Pearly King

John Osborne, playwright, screenwriter, actor, critic of the Establishment and author of the play Don’t Look Back in Anger knew all about love and scandal. He also knew about tea! He also influenced the one of the greatest British pop songs of all time! But not before London influenced him…

“In London love and scandal are considered the best sweeteners of tea”

Love and Tea

Perhaps the greatest British fashion designer of all time, Vivienne Westwood carved a home and reputation for herself in London’s punk scene back in the 70’s. And we agree with her; there could never be another London and for that reason we’re sticking around!

“There is nothing like London; nothing, anywhere”
